Dear Prospective Member Family,

Thank you for your interest in Sleepy Hollow Swim & Tennis Club, your neighborhood recreational club!  Our Club is a private facility offering a host of social opportunities, as well excellent, competitive and recreational swim and tennis programs for our members of all ages.

The Club is situated on a serene 45-acre property, nestled in Orinda’s charming Sleepy Hollow neighborhood.  Our facility includes a 25 meter heated pool; a baby pool; 11 tennis courts, with 2 lighted courts; a Clubhouse; and a seasonal poolside cafe.  Sleepy Hollow Swim & Tennis Club is an ideal destination for members to kick-back and relax; enjoy a picnic or BBQ with friends or family; or host a large group event, such as a birthday party, class party or sporting team end of season celebration.

We offer an array of activities for children, including recreational swimming, swim team, swim lessons, tennis team, tennis lessons, tennis clinics, and “Legendland,” a supervised, drop-off summer activity program.  For adults, we offer recreational and lap swimming, tennis lessons, clinics and league play.  We know you’ll find integrated activities to fit your lifestyle needs year round!

Sleepy Hollow Swim & Tennis Club is also the home of the Sleepy Hollow Legends, a top-ranked, recreational swim team where kids learn to realize their full potential as athletes and families come together to have fun and enjoy the variety of activities our swim team has to offer. Our exceptional team is coached by Matt Ehrenberger and Kevin Honey, and receives technical advising from Ron Heidary.  Coach Matt has coached recreational swim teams for the last 24 years; Orinda Aquatics year-round, USA swimming for the last 15 years; and has coached at Sleepy Hollow for the last 14 years.  Coach Kevin has coached recreational swim teams for the last 22 years; Orinda Aquatics year-round, USA swimming for the last 10 years; he has been a coach at Miramonte for the last 15 years; and has coached for Sleepy Hollow for the last 8 years.  Coach Ron is also the Co-Head Coach of Orinda Aquatics, and is the Head Coach for Campolindo High School’s acclaimed swim program.  The past fourteen summers have been filled with outstanding team successes: OMPA Champions (6 years), OMPA second place finishes (7 years), County Champions (3 years), County Top-Five Finishes (7 years). The strength and consistency of our program is directly attributable to our dedicated swimmers, supportive parents and committed coaching staff.

All the tennis activities and programs at Sleepy Hollow are overseen by Steve Squire, the Director of Tennis.  Steve grew up locally in Danville, and played junior tennis out of Diablo Country Club and the Nor Cal section of the USTA.  After High School, he played for U.C. Santa Cruz, and during the summers coached at the highly acclaimed Nike Tennis Camps at Stanford.  After college, Steve was the Junior Development Director at Crow Canyon County Club.  He became certified by the USPTA five years ago.  Steve was our Head Pro for two years before taking over as Director of Sleepy Hollow Tennis.  Steve has followed tennis for over thirty years as a player, competitor, coach and instructor.  Last year, Heather Andersen joined us as an Associate Tennis Professional.  Heather grew up playing tennis in Memphis, Tennessee. She played singles and doubles on a nationally ranked Division II college team, Colorado College. After graduate school and working for Hewlett-Packard, she returned to tennis to participate in USTA Team Tennis. She played singles for a 4.5 National Championship Team in 1999. She has been a USPTA certified coach for seven years, but she has loved this game for nearly forty years!

The Club proudly offers an array of tennis activities all year round. For adults we have USTA and BALL league play along with Men’s Morning (Saturdays 8am-12pm) which is a drop-in doubles format.  Junior players are encouraged to attend the many tennis programs offered in the spring, summer, fall and winter.  These clinics allow players to learn the game in a fun and social setting while making friends who will ultimately become practice partners.  We also provide private, semi-private, and group lessons for all members.

Right now is a great time to join the Club.  For the first time ever, the Club is offering a “Spring Special”: join now and save 50% off the price of our Proprietary Membership Initiation Fee!  Joining a Club is a big decision; the Club is providing this discount so new families can try out the Club without such a large financial commitment.  We’re confident you will feel at home at Sleepy Hollow and enjoy all of its programs!  For more information about how to apply for membership, please download our “2008 Proprietary Membership Application.”

In addition, the Club is hosting a Prospective Member Open House on Sunday, April 13, from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.  Feel free to drop by with your kids, check out the facility and meet our swim coaches and tennis pros.  If you’d like to attend, please RSVP to Stephanie Davis, our Club Director, at the phone number provided above.  We hope to see you then!
