2007 Coaching Staff

 

Matt Ehrenberger – Head Coach

This is Matt’s fourteenth summer at Sleepy Hollow and twenty-fourth summer of coaching recreational swimming (10 years at Pinole – 7 county meet wins & 10 League titles). Additionally, Matt is the head age group coach with Orinda Aquatics year-round USA Swim Team (15 years).  Matt’s coaching and commitment has been, and will always be, a very important part of Sleepy Hollow’s success (3 county meet wins & 7 OMPA titles).  Matt and Tisha (his better half) have two sons Justin (7) and Nathan (4).

 

 

Kevin Honey – Co-Head Coach

Kevin is back for his seventh summer at Sleepy Hollow.  He has coached for the over twenty years, and is the senior most coach in the OMPA (2 years at Pinole, 6 years at Meadow, 6 years at OPP, 14 years at Miramonte High School and 15 years with Orinda Aquatics).  Kevin dedication to coaching in this area is unparalleled.  During the school year, Kevin is Vice Principal at Walnut Creek Intermediate School.  He is married to Meg, who teaches at St. Perpetua School in Lafayette.

 

 

Ron Heidary – Technical Advisor

Ron is the architect of the Sleepy Hollow Program.  Fourteen years ago, he came to Sleepy Hollow from Pinole and took the Legends from the bottom of the OMPA to the top.  He has close to thirty years of coaching experience on all levels (10 county meet titles, multiple high school league/NCS titles at Campolindo and USA swimming Far Western, Sectional and Junior National titles).  He and his brother, Donnie, are the founders of Orinda Aquatics year round swim team in 1994 right here at Sleepy Hollow.  Ronnie continues to be a valuable resource for the coaching staff and swimmers of Sleepy Hollow.  Ronnie and Alma have a 10 year old daughter, Kayla.

 

Matthew Estrada – Senior Assistant Coach

Matthew is back for his tenth summer coaching at Sleepy Hollow.  He started his career at age four at Pinole, followed Ronnie and Matt to Sleepy Hollow at age ten where he finished his swimming career as the Most Valuable 15-18 swimmer.  In addition, Matthew earned the prestigious Legend of the Year award.  Matthew currently works as a Paramedic.

 

Mary Anderson – Senior Assistant Coach

Mary returns for her seventh of coaching.  Mary swam her entire career at Sleepy Hollow (age 4 to 18).  She was the 2002 Legend of the Year.  She was a varsity swimmer and water polo player at Miramonte High School and played water polo at Cal.  Mary will be graduating from UC Berkeley in December.

 

Jason Giblin – Senior Assistant Coach

Jason returns for his third summer of coaching at Sleepy Hollow.  He swam for Sleepy Hollow from ages 8 to 10 and ages 17 to 18.  He was the co-Most Valuable 15-18 last summer in his final year of swimming.  He was a varsity swimmer at Miramonte.  Jason currently attends the University of Arizona.

 

Amanda Horne – Senior Assistant Coach

Amanda is back for her second summer at Sleepy Hollow. Amanda grew up swimming and coaching (6 years) at Meadow.  As a fourteen year old, she was the OMPA high point winner. She was a varsity swimmer at Miramonte.  Amanda currently attends the University of San Francisco.

 

Lizzy Parrague – Senior Assistant Coach

Lizzy returns for her sixth year coaching at Sleepy Hollow.  She grew up swimming at Sleepy Hollow, winning the Legend of the Year award in 2003.  She ran varsity cross country and track and field at Miramonte.  Lizzy currently attends the University of Arizona.

 

Assistant Coaches

Michael Citron – 4th year.  Michael finished his freshman year at UCSB.

Nikki Kantor – 4th year. Nikki finished her freshman year at Chico State.

Darcy Nenni – 4th year.  Darcy graduates from Miramonte in June.

Danielle Sawery-Kubicek – 5th year.  Danielle finished her freshman year at UCSB.

 

Junior Coaches:

Every year, Sleepy Hollow enlists the help of their current swimmers as junior coaches.  We are fortunate to have so many outstanding young adults eager to share their love for this team and willing to give back to this team.  The Junior Coaches are leaders and role models and their enthusiasm, patience and LEGEND PRIDE are a valuable asset to the coaching staff and the entire team.
